We’re thrilled to share the newly transformed 2 Houston Center lobby with our tenants and visitors! The lobby opening showcases the major investment that we are making into the 4.2 million square foot campus and marks a significant milestone in its ongoing redevelopment.
With the debut of the 2 Houston Center lobby also comes the unveiling of a new tenant conferencing center that includes Loop East and Loop West, two boardroom-style meeting rooms, and two huddle rooms with seating capacities ranging from 6 to 14 seats per room. Tenants will find plenty of public seating areas designed to foster communication and collaboration. Plans for 2 Houston Center also added a three-story glass curtain wall and modernized lobby and elevator cabs. The opening of the 2 Houston Center lobby and the Fannin Street entrance also marks the reopening of Houston Center’s access to downtown Houston’s tunnel system.
Since acquiring Houston Center in 2017, we have upheld our commitment to utilize our placemaking expertise to make meaningful capital upgrades to the campus. The completed 2 Houston Center lobby offers our tenants and the downtown community a glimpse of what’s to come as the project approaches completion in late 2020.
As we continue to make incredible progress through the remainder of the year, we look forward to sharing more milestone moments with you, including the completion of:
- An entirely new arrival experience through a reimagined central plaza and greenspace along McKinney Street, offering seamless connection to the street-level and nearby attractions;
- The new central plaza, which features a digital water wall, flexible entertainment space, and an iconic monumental stair connection to landscaped terraces above;
- A new world-class fitness center; and
An adaptive conferencing venue at LyondellBasell Tower, which will house six conference rooms, three of which are scalable for a combined seating capacity for up to 231 people, and is centered around a social stair – a unique architectural feature that encourages employees to sit, relax and congregate.
Upon completion, the entire Houston Center campus will be a modern and dynamic mixed-use office campus with amenities that attract and retain top talent.
