The redevelopment of Houston Center kicked off earlier this year, and today, we’re excited to share with you renderings for our new tenant amenities – the conferencing venues and fitness center. The new amenities are a part of the exciting vision and ongoing transformation of Houston Center.
The new Houston Center will feature tenant lounges in LyondellBasell Tower and 2 Houston Center lobbies, flanked by new conferencing venues with 10 state-of-the-art conference rooms – eight bookable tenant conference rooms with leading-edge A/V capabilities, and two huddle rooms for more informal break-out meetings.
The conferencing space at 2 Houston Center includes two boardroom-style meeting rooms and two huddle rooms (seating capacities ranging from six to 14 seats per room), in addition to ample public seating areas for tenants to collaborate.
LyondellBasell Tower’s adaptive conferencing venue will house six conference rooms, three of which are scalable for a combined seating capacity for up to 231 people, and is centered around a social stair – a unique architectural feature that encourages employees to sit, relax and congregate.
The new world-class fitness center will be centrally located in the Houston Center campus at LyondellBasell Tower, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the new central plaza greenspace below. Open to all tenants, this complex-wide amenity will include first-class fitness equipment, high-end locker rooms with towel service, as well as a secluded space for private workouts and access to on-demand virtual fitness classes.
These exciting new tenant amenities are in addition to the major redevelopment currently underway at Houston Center. Plans for the new Houston Center include:
- A new arrival experience along McKinney Street with a new central plaza and greenspace;
- Monumental stair connection to landscaped terraces;
- Two-story glass façade;
- And reclad skybridges to foster street-level restaurant and retail activity.
Construction began in February 2019 with an estimated completion in late 2020. For the redevelopment, we’ve enlisted Gensler as the project architect, Clark Condon for landscape design and Harvey Builders as the general contractor.
If you haven’t yet, we encourage you to see the project renderings for what’s to come at Houston Center. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue the redevelopment of Houston Center!
